Well dear friends its time for mamma and I to return home to Canada. But, before we go, I decided to post these two pictures from within my gallery. Thank you to all our dear friends who have visited our gallery, and enjoyed tea with us and talked about art and life and whatever else. I also thank the purchasers of my Bajan art. I have seen them hanging on the walls of homes in Barbados and feel honoured to think that you should join my family of art friends.
And, for the many people who visit this website, I thought I would end this winter's stay in Barbados by showing you a couple of walls within our Gallery to give you an idea of how nice one of my works would look on your wall.
Lynda and I welcome visitors to our gallery - but visits are done by private arrangements, after we are contacted by email and we have talked on the phone. This makes the art experience personal.
In 2013, I will be taking students who paint in acrylics, and even going out into Barbados, to paint on location. Sounds like fun? Send an email to arrange for a place. My price in Canada is $25 per session but this is subject to change.
Until then - with all our best wishes

Rocks in the Soup Bowl
This painting catches the power of the wind and sea along the Atlantic Coast of Barbados. The Soup Bowl is the part of the Atlantic near the village of Bathsheba. This is another painting in my style of integrating land and sea. Barbados is a small island, and life on the land is interdependent on the surrounding Atlantic and Caribbean seas.

Free Spirit
I had fun painting Free Spirit. If you take a good look at it, I will walk you through the mechanics of what makes this painting interesting. First of all, take a look at the sky in the left side. It flows into the trees and if you follow the movement you will eventually come to the tree trunk on your left side. Let your eye go down the trunk, and into the roots and into the shadows. If you look up the waterline you will return to the sky. See how I painted this as a great circle.
Now look at the little boy who sits on top of the boat. I have arranged the people standing in a triangle below the boy and this is like an arrowhead which points in his direction.
This is another story painting. Its called Free Spirit, but whatever story you think lies behind this work is yours for the making.

Old Sugar Factory
This old abandoned sugar factory caught my wife's fancy and she asked if I would paint it for her.
It was a challenge for I didn't wish it to look as grim as it appeared. Deterioration, ruined equipment, rust and decay was everywhere. So, with a little magic I gave it a higglety pigglety appearance and added some colour to the mix to give it some vitality.
